Tom Daley is causing a stir for more than his dive during the Olympic Games.

The athlete, who recently won gold at the Tokyo Games, was spotted working on a purple and cream design over the weekend, as he soaked up the action at the women’s 3m springboard final.

His totally healthy way of passing time ended up being shown on BBC Sport’s coverage of the event, although it’s certainly no secret as Tom has proudly shown off his creations in the past.

On July 26, he won his first-ever Olympic gold medal in the 10m synchronized platform event alongside Matty Lee, and he celebrated the victory with a pocket for the medal.

He said at the time: “Learning to knit and crochet helped me a lot during these Olympics and we won the GOLD yesterday. I made a little medal case too! YAY! ‘

Her next diving event will be the 10m individual platform, while her last for this year’s Olympics is the diving program in Tokyo.

Having said that, let’s get to know Tom a little better.

How old is Tom Daley?

Tom is 27 and he was only 12, three years younger than the usual age, when he was allowed to participate in the 2007 Australian Youth Olympic Festival.

He won silver alongside Callum Johnstone in the 10m synchronized diving final.

Who is Tom Daley’s husband and how many children do they have?

Tom started dating Dustin Lance Black around 2013 and they got engaged in 2015 before getting married two years later.

Their son Robbie was born in June 2018, and the diver recently suggested that the universe made him wait to become a father before winning Olympic gold.

He said: “It’s kinda unbelievable. I thought I was going to win an Olympic gold medal in Rio [in 2016] and it turned out to be the opposite by far, and it was my husband who told me that my story was not over and that my son or my child – we did not know at the time – had to be there to watch me win an Olympic gold medal.

They could expand their family in the near future, as Tom’s son told him in a conversation with Attitude that he wanted siblings.

“Do you want a brother and a sister?” We always said we wanted a big family. Definitely after the Olympics at some point I’m sure we will, ”he revealed.

Dustin himself is an Oscar-winning director and screenwriter, having worked on Pedro, Virginia, and Milk, the latter of which won him the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.

He even revealed what he’s been working on by the pool by sharing photos of adorable doggies in their own homemade dog sweaters and revealed he was creating another one when it was filmed.

He wrote: “I did doggy jumpers on my friends! This is the cutest little model to follow by @knittingland ❤️ How cute are they all ?! I was doing another one at the pool yesterday lol ‘ .
