Fans of knitting who love the vintage look will be delighted to hear that the Hobbycraft craft store has been bringing back popular designs from the 1940s …
And, with any luck, they should be available in time for Christmas!
The craft retailer worked with the Women’s Institute on the project, which includes abandoned models from the Women’s Library in London, dating from the 1940s to the 1980s.
Knitcraft, the site’s knitting specialist, then ran a social media contest, asking craft enthusiasts to choose which of the 42 patterns they most wanted to see return.
And, Hobbycraft has now revealed to Prima.fr that the winners have been chosen, and that the brand’s knitting experts are working hard with the WI to update the patterns so modern artisans can get their hands on them “by the end of the year.”
While we don’t yet know which models have won, here are some of the serious contenders we hope to see back in circulation soon …
We don’t know about you, but these go straight to the top of our Christmas 2017 wishlist!
