Dorothy Millie Crafts 92, of Lapeer, died Tuesday, May 3, at her home with her family by her side. Dorothy was born July 18, 1929, the daughter of Forrest and Bernice Hite. Daughter-in-law of William Lang. Dorothy graduated in 1948 from Lincoln Park High School. Dorothy married Raymond Crafts, the love of her life, on May 20, 1950 at Monroe Street Methodist Church, Reverend Everett Smith officiated. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her marriage spanned over 57 years and she always felt she had the perfect marriage. She lost her Ray in 2008 and has struggled over the years without him, but her family has brought her the most joy. She loved watching the Tigers and Pistons, loved knitting and making tea towels.
Surviving are his children, Kathleen Harmon of Lapeer, William (Kelly) Crafts of Bradenton, FL and Raymond Crafts of Lapeer. his grandchildren, Senna Harmon, Cody Crafts, Collin Crafts, Jacob Crafts and Jordon Crafts; and many special cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Ray; his parents, Bernice and Forrest; stepfather, William Lang; younger brother, Harold; son-in-law, Roy Harmon; special aunt, Marion; and his uncle, Earl Springsteen.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. Dorothy’s funeral will follow immediately at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In accordance with Dorothy’s wishes, cremation will follow the funeral. His ashes will be buried in Green Corners Cemetery in Hadley… Ray and Dorothy are together forever again.
