If you own a platoon, you’ve probably taken a course taught by Senior Instructor Alex Toussaint. The New York-based fitness enthusiast has established himself as one of the most revered trainers in the business, and he’s just getting started.

On Friday, the 29-year-old announced he was the latest athlete to join Puma, a brand that claims WNBA superstar Breanna Stewart and Paris Saint-Germain striker Neymar as other global ambassadors.

As the new face of German society, Toussaint will help Puma launch a series of projects aimed at improving both the mental health and physical fitness of children.

“Children are our future and having a partner like Puma who is fully invested in supporting initiatives to help them live better lives is empowering,” Toussaint told Yahoo Sports.

Giving back to the community is something of a loophole moment for Toussaint, who says he wouldn’t have eclipsed the feat without the help of his personal support system. The child of Haitian immigrants, Toussaint’s motivation behind always seeking new achievements are his parents and grandparents. Without them, access to the best education, mental health resources and other luxuries would be a dream and not a reality.

“Every day that I get on the bike is another opportunity to honor my family name and validate the sacrifices of my parents and grandparents. My family is my greatest inspiration,” he continued. .

You don’t reach a combined total of 555,000 subscribers on both Twitter and Instagram without having a personality, and that’s perhaps what makes Toussaint so beloved by stay-at-home moms and professional athletes. Only positive sentiments and motivational slogans emerge from the deep, raspy voice of the former military scholar. His A-list client list includes NFL MVP quarterback Cam Newtown and “The Voice” host Carson Daly. These two names couldn’t be more different on paper, but Toussaint has always been a champion of diversity. In fact, he tells Yahoo Sports it was a catalyst behind his decision to get on a bike for the first time six years ago.

“I noticed when I started coaching the lack of diversity in the fitness space and not seeing people who looked like me having a platform to express themselves authentically. I have the responsibility to improve people’s lives both physically and mentally and it’s not something I take lightly I really make sure to hold myself accountable because I understand that It’s one thing to put myself in that door, but it’s another thing to open the door for others to walk full throttle too, which is what we’re doing in real time.”

Toussaint’s Puma picks

As a sustainability advocate, Toussaint appreciates how Puma remains committed to making apparel and footwear with recycled materials. Of the thousands of items available to buy online and in-store, he listed the Puma x First Mile Double Knit Men’s Joggers and the Puma x First Mile Men’s Training Sweatshirt as his personal favorites.

The former Flywheel instructor also told Yahoo Sports that he’s a big fan of the Classics Tech Full-Zip Men’s Hoodie and the Men’s Printed Woven 8″ Workout Shorts. As for the shoes, The Puma x First Mile Pure XT Utility men’s training shoes are what Toussaint recommends for men looking for new exercise sneakers.

For someone who lives by the motto “Do better”, Toussaint proves that the best is only the minimum and that the extraordinary is within reach.
